When writing my Final draft, I wanted to research something that’s caused a great effect on my generation. Everyone I know has some form of social media that they use daily. Not only do they have a social media account but they use their accounts often. Phones started tracking the amount of time spent on these social media platforms as well as other apps. I am guilty of using these apps for hours at a time as well. I usually try and monitor the time I spend on these apps because it’s unhealthy to get so consumed in them. I decided to write my research paper about “Social Media and its Effects on Society.” In this paper I spoke about both the advantages and disadvantages that come along with social media. I also highlighted how different age groups are affected by the media. I felt I could write this essay well because it’s something I have experience with personally. The effects I’ve read about are relatable to what I’ve experienced and others around me. For example, comparing yourself and things you have to those online. Everyone posts the good stuff online and tries their best to hide the bad. By writing about this topic in my research paper I hoped to bring awareness on both the negative and positive effects of social media.
